The Huchuy Qosqo Horseback Ride 2 Days with Wonders of Peru Expeditions takes you on horseback through the highlands above the Sacred Valley to the remote Inca site of Huchuy Qosqo — a rarely visited archaeological complex perched at 3,600 m with commanding views of the Urubamba Valley and surrounding peaks.
This overnight horseback adventure combines riding through scenic highland terrain with a visit to one of the most photogenic and least crowded Inca sites near Cusco. You ride past sacred mountains, camp beside a high-altitude lake, and explore Inca ruins that most visitors to Peru never see. Our bilingual guide leads the way with full camping support and a professional cook.
Day 1 takes you on horseback from our ranch near Cusco through the highlands to Senqa Mountain and on to the shores of Qoricocha Lake for an overnight camp. Day 2 continues riding through Andean landscapes to Huchuy Qosqo, where your guide leads a tour of the ruins before a scenic descent to the Sacred Valley town of Lamay for a traditional lunch and return to Cusco.
