Fredi’s life has been shaped by a deep connection to his homeland and his family, who are his greatest source of motivation. A lifelong learner and avid reader, he is always striving for excellence in everything he does. Fredi is trilingual — fluent in English, Spanish, and Quechua — which allows him to connect genuinely with travelers from around the world.

Choosing tourism wasn’t just a career decision for Fredi — it was a calling. With 17 years of professional experience, he has transformed his childhood curiosity about history and cultures into a career dedicated to excellence in guiding. For Fredi, sharing the cultural and historical knowledge of the Andes isn’t just work — it’s a passion that fills him with pride.

He has trekked and mastered nearly every route in the Cusco region, developing strong technical expertise across all terrain. However, Machu Picchu remains the place that moves him most — its energy is unique, and he believes that recharging at this wonder is one of life’s greatest pleasures. “It’s an experience everyone should feel!”

Fredi holds certifications in History from UNSAAC, is a DIRCETUR-certified official guide in Peru, a SERNANP-certified Inca Trail guide, and is trained in first aid and high-altitude mountain guiding. Being part of the Wonders of Peru family is something he takes great pride in.

Julio’s connection to the outdoors started at the age of 11 when he began as a Scout — a formative experience that ignited a lifelong passion for nature, leadership, and exploration. He went on to study Tourism at university and began his professional guiding career in 2000.

Between 2000 and 2006, Julio led over 400 Inca Trail expeditions, earning a reputation as one of the most experienced and dependable trekking guides in the Cusco region. His deep knowledge of the trail, its ecology, and its archaeology made him a favorite among both first-time trekkers and seasoned adventurers.

Since 2010, Julio has worked as a Tour Conductor, leading groups across Peru — from Lima’s coastal charm to Arequipa’s colonial beauty, the altiplano of Puno, and the rainforests of Puerto Maldonado — as well as international destinations in Bolivia and Ecuador. He is also an expert birdwatcher who incorporates birdwatching into his tours, adding a unique and enriching dimension to every trek.

Over the years, Julio has developed storytelling techniques and leadership training programs for tour guides across Peru and Bolivia, sharing his expertise with the next generation of adventure professionals.

In 2019, Julio founded H&A Adventures, a trekking, camping, and travel company operating across Peru. In 2026, H&A obtained ISO 14001 certification for sustainable environmental management — a testament to Julio’s commitment to responsible and eco-conscious tourism.

Today, Julio continues guiding on a variety of routes across Peru and works as a Tour Manager for international operators. He is a family man — his wife is also a tour guide, and together they are raising four children in the heart of the Andes.
