The Cusco ruins ATV adventure is a half-day quad biking experience through the ancient Inca archaeological sites surrounding Cusco. Ride automatic ATVs along dirt trails through the Andean countryside and explore Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, and Tambomachay — all while enjoying panoramic views of Cusco and the snow-capped Andes mountains.

Why Choose the Cusco Ruins ATV Adventure?

Most visitors explore Cusco’s famous ruins on foot or by bus. This ATV tour offers a completely different perspective — riding through the countryside on trails that connect these incredible archaeological sites. You’ll visit the same world-class ruins as a standard city tour, but the journey between them becomes an adventure in itself.

The half-day format is perfect for travelers with limited time or those looking for an active morning activity before exploring Cusco’s restaurants and markets in the afternoon. No riding experience is required — our automatic ATVs are easy for anyone to handle after a quick lesson.

Experience Highlights

  • Ride automatic ATVs through scenic Cusco countryside trails with panoramic Andean mountain views.
  • Visit Sacsayhuaman, the massive Inca fortress with enormous stone walls overlooking Cusco.
  • Explore Qenqo and Tambomachay, sacred Inca ceremonial sites.
  • No experience needed — automatic ATVs with full safety briefing and equipment.
  • Small groups of maximum 8 riders with a bilingual guide.
  • Hotel pickup and drop-off included.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need ATV riding experience?
No prior experience is needed. Our ATVs are fully automatic (no manual shifting), and your guide provides a thorough safety briefing and riding lesson before hitting the trails. The route is designed for beginners and experienced riders alike.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable long pants, sturdy closed-toe shoes or hiking boots, and a warm layer. Cusco is at 3,400 meters and the wind on the trails can be chilly. We provide helmets, goggles, and gloves. Sunscreen and sunglasses are recommended.
Is there an age or weight limit?
Riders must be at least 16 years old to drive their own ATV. Children aged 6-15 can ride as passengers with an adult. The maximum rider weight is 120 kg (265 lbs). A valid driver's license is not required.
What happens if it rains?
The tour operates rain or shine — riding in light rain can actually be more fun as the trails get a bit muddier! Ponchos are provided if needed. In cases of extreme weather, we may adjust the route for safety. Full refunds are offered only if we cancel due to unsafe conditions.
How fit do I need to be?
This tour requires minimal physical effort since the ATV does the work. However, Cusco is at high altitude (3,400m / 11,150ft), so we recommend arriving at least one day before the tour to acclimatize. Drink plenty of water and coca tea.
