The ultimate introduction to Peru’s Inca heritage — three days exploring Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu with your own private guide. From the colonial grandeur of the imperial capital to the ancient ruins scattered through the Sacred Valley, culminating at the legendary Lost City of the Incas.
This carefully designed itinerary lets you experience the three essential destinations of the Cusco region without feeling rushed. By starting with the Cusco city tour, you acclimatize to altitude naturally before descending to the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. Each day builds on the last — from the urban sophistication of the Inca capital to the agricultural heartland of the empire to its most iconic hidden citadel.
Day 1 immerses you in Cusco — the massive Sacsayhuaman fortress, the gold-plated Koricancha temple, and the vibrant San Pedro Market. Day 2 takes you through the Sacred Valley’s most impressive sites: Moray’s circular terraces, the ancient Maras salt mines, the imposing Ollantaytambo fortress, and Chinchero’s living weaving tradition. Day 3 is devoted entirely to Machu Picchu — a comprehensive guided tour of the Wonder of the World.

Cusco sits at 3,400m (11,150ft) above sea level. We strongly recommend arriving at least 1-2 days before your tour to adjust to the altitude. The Sacred Valley (2,800m) and Machu Picchu (2,430m) are both lower than Cusco, so you will likely feel progressively better as your tour continues. Drink plenty of water, avoid heavy meals and alcohol on arrival, and try coca tea — a traditional Andean remedy available throughout the region.
These are guided cultural tours traveling by private vehicle and train — no strenuous trekking required. You will walk moderate distances at archaeological sites (2-4 hours of walking on uneven stone paths and stairs at Machu Picchu, shorter walks at Sacred Valley sites). Comfortable walking shoes with good grip are essential. Each day involves some driving between sites with scenic stops along the way.
Apply high-SPF sunscreen frequently — UV radiation at altitude is intense even on cloudy days. Bring personal medications and consider altitude sickness remedies if sensitive. A light rain jacket is recommended year-round as mountain weather changes quickly. Stay hydrated with at least 1-2 liters of water daily. Hotels on multi-night tours have hot water and modern facilities.
Book at least 2-3 months in advance, especially during peak season (June-September). Machu Picchu has daily visitor limits and popular circuits sell out quickly. Sacred Valley sites have more flexible scheduling. We coordinate all logistics, entry times, hotels, and trains upon booking.
