The Inca Trail Private Tour is a 4-day, 3-night exclusive trek to Machu Picchu with a dedicated guide for every 2 hikers. Follow the same legendary route as the Classic Inca Trail — from Kilometer 82 through ancient ruins and cloud forests to the Sun Gate — but with personalized attention, flexible pacing, and an intimate experience tailored entirely to your group.
The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is one of South America’s premier trekking routes. Over four days, you’ll follow ancient pathways once walked by Inca nobility, passing through diverse ecosystems from high-altitude puna grasslands to lush cloud forests teeming with orchids and hummingbirds. You’ll explore remarkable archaeological sites accessible only on foot — including Patallacta, Runkurakay, Sayaqmarka, Phuyupatamarka, and the stunning terraces of Wiñay Wayna.
What sets the private tour apart is your dedicated guide for every 2 trekkers. Instead of sharing a guide with a larger group, you get undivided attention, the freedom to hike at your own pace, and deeper engagement at every archaeological site. Want to linger at Sayaqmarka for an extra half hour? Your guide is happy to accommodate. Prefer a gentler pace on the ascent to Dead Woman’s Pass? No problem — the itinerary flexes to your comfort level.
This private Inca Trail trek is ideal for couples, families, or small groups who want an exclusive, unhurried experience on one of the world’s most celebrated hiking routes.
📍 Key stops along the Inca Trail: Dead Woman’s Pass (4,215m), Runkurakay Pass, Sayaqmarka, Phuyupatamarka, Intipata, Wiñay Wayna, Sun Gate, and Machu Picchu.
Each day of the Inca Trail brings new landscapes and challenges. Day 1 eases you into the trek with gentle terrain along the Urubamba River Valley. Day 2 is the most demanding — you’ll summit Dead Woman’s Pass at 4,215 meters, the highest point on the trail. Days 3 and 4 reward your effort with jaw-dropping descents through cloud forests, ancient Inca tunnels, and finally the unforgettable sunrise arrival at Machu Picchu.
Your private trek includes a dedicated bilingual guide for every 2 trekkers, comfortable camping equipment, and gourmet meals prepared by our experienced trail chefs. If you’re looking for a shorter option, consider our Short Inca Trail 2D/1N, or explore our full range of Inca Trail treks.

As a local tour operator, we provide you with a duffel bag during your briefing and include the services of an additional porter to carry up to 7 kg (15 lbs) of your gear. This allowance covers your sleeping bag, mattress, and any extra clothing you may need. Peruvian regulations ensure that no duffel bag exceeds 7 kg to safeguard the health of our porters and any horses used during the trek. All bags will be weighed prior to acceptance. If your gear exceeds this limit, you will need to carry the additional weight in your day pack. From the 7 kg allowance, allocate 2 kg for your sleeping bag and 1 kg for your sleeping pad, leaving you with approximately 4 kg for your personal belongings.
We highly recommend a small backpack 30 to 40L for hiking in the day. A big backpack will not be allowed into Machu Picchu. The remainder of your belongings will be in your duffel bag at camp.
