The Sacsayhuaman 4 Ruins Horse Riding Tour with Wonders of Peru Expeditions takes you on horseback through Cusco’s most important Inca archaeological sites — Sacsayhuaman, Q’enqo, Puka Pukara, and Tambomachay — combining riding through the Andean highlands with guided visits to each ruin. This half-day tour covers all four sites of the Cusco Tourist Circuit in a way that walking tours simply cannot match.
Walking between the four ruins takes hours of uphill effort at 3,700 meters. On horseback, you ride comfortably between sites on gentle Peruvian Paso horses while your bilingual guide explains the history and significance of each location. Between ruins, the trail passes through farmland, eucalyptus forests, and highland terrain where you encounter llamas and alpacas grazing alongside active archaeological excavation sites.
Your guide picks you up from your hotel and drives to the ranch near Q’enqo. After a safety briefing and horse assignment, you begin riding through the Sacsayhuaman Archaeological Park. The route takes you past potato farms, local communities, and panoramic viewpoints before stopping at each ruin for a guided walking tour. The ride itself covers approximately one hour of saddle time, with the rest spent exploring the sites on foot with your expert guide.
