Explore two of the Sacred Valley’s most remarkable sites on this private half-day tour. Visit the circular agricultural terraces of Moray — an Inca engineering masterpiece where each concentric ring creates a different microclimate — and the stunning Salineras de Maras, where over 3,000 salt evaporation ponds have been carved into the mountainside since pre-Inca times.

Why Choose This Tour?

This half-day tour is ideal for travelers who want to see two of the Sacred Valley’s most visually striking sites without committing to a full day. Moray’s circular terraces descend approximately 150 meters into the earth, with a temperature difference of up to 15°C between the top and bottom — the Incas used this to simulate different altitudinal growing zones and experiment with crops. At the Salineras de Maras, you walk among thousands of salt pools cascading down the mountainside, still actively harvested by local families using ancestral techniques. The tour pairs perfectly with a Cusco city tour or other activity in the same day.

What to Expect

Your guide picks you up from your hotel and drives approximately one hour to Moray at 3,450 meters. After a guided tour of the circular terraces, you continue to the Salineras de Maras for a walk through the salt pools and an explanation of the pre-Inca harvesting traditions. You can purchase locally harvested pink salt products before returning to Cusco. Morning departures return by approximately 1:00 PM; afternoon departures by approximately 6:00 PM.
